“Thanks” is a very short term for my wonderful parents who brought me in this beautiful world. Life is really very beautiful and happiness always comes from small things. As it says, life is not bed of roses, but of thorns too. Still, life has to go on and we live with good and bad memories. 

Ah! Today is my Off-day from Kitchen and Mr. Hubby. wears the cap of cook, party host and photographer. I do not want to say anyone…. ;) ;) but I love the attention and pamper today. he he

Truly, celebration has no time and no age if you want to make the most of your day.

The day starts with grand breakfast, sumptuous lunch, evening ceremony and celebration is still on. It is a day when nobody will scold you, blame you and most importantly you will be pampered like heaven. It feels great when your friends, colleague and close relatives call you up and wish you “Happy Birthday”.

After marriage, this is my second birthday celebration with my family and I made most of my day. Surprise gifts are the icing on the cake on my day.

Though, I missed my parents every minute today physically, but thanks to technology, that they are with me virtually.

I was amazed with the hush-hush life of Mumbai. The traffic of Mumbai was a real concern, but it did not stop me to chase the fast life of this exciting place. The rough and tough attitude of Mumbaikars really attracted me. I visited Haji Ali and it was my first visit to a mosque. I was thrilled with the performance of Sufi singers inside the mosque and I felt as if I was watching a “movie shooting”. The Gateway of India and Marine Drive define the real Mumbai.

Puri

As you step in this beautiful holy destination, you can hear “Jai Jagannath” in everyone’s mouth. Once you come here, you surrender yourself in the name of Lord Jagannath. The evening “Samundar Puja” was lively and beautiful. You feel relaxed and peace at your mind. I hired a car and planned a day out to Konark Temple, Nandankanan Zoological Park, and Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves. The green paddy field and Sea on the other side gave an amazing landscape.

I never believe in dreams that I see when I am sleeping. Dreams are something that you should see with your eyes open. It is a challenge that comes in your life and if you really love your passion, then you will overcome all the difficulties and turn your dream into reality. Dreams with open eyes make you restless and inspire you to chase the same and get the ultimate pleasure.

I still remember the day when my father gave me a kaleidoscope. Back then, I was a 12-year old kid and I fall in love with the colorful patterns that the instrument showed and it amazed me. Whenever I used to move the instrument, it changed into different shapes, styles, colors and I could not believed my eyes ever. I was inspired to follow my dreams, yes my dreams about life with open eyes.

Life is also like a kaleidoscope…. We move on from one stage to another phase of life and our life and dream takes different shapes. We never realize this fact, but if you think deeply, then you can easily relate my words. When we are in our teens, we aspire to become a successful person and stand in our life. When we reached in our 30s, we want to earn more money, good lifestyle and face many challenges and fight to overcome the hurdles. Then we enter into family life, where our dreams and aspirations centered towards our family like wife, husband, parents, children and friends. Then we enter our old age and we become dependent on our children and grandchildren and our dream is to spend happy last days of our life and die peaceful.

Now, when I look at the same kaleidoscope, I think of a new dream and encourage myself to follow it and chase it to live a happy life. Life is all about ups and downs so don not stop to see dreams because it defines who you are really are?

Jagdish, a Gujrati Brahmin by birth is very orthodox about his culture and tradition. Her wife Saroj is a lovely housewife and her family is her first priority. Jignesh and Jia, their kids are well established in their career and work for multinational companies in Delhi.

Jia came to Ahmedabad to meet with her parents, but in last two days the ambience of the house was very rampant and uncontrollable. Jagdish even said menacing words to his daughter in anger. Both father and daughter were not talking to each other.

One day, Jadish entered to Jia’s room and said, “Call that man… whatever is his name tomorrow at home for breakfast.”

Jia exclaimed, “Manjeet, his name is Manjeet.”

“Whatever”, her father walked out of the room and banged the door very hard.

“Ting tong” the door bell rang and it was sharp 9.00 AM.

Saroj, Jia’s mother opened the door and asked the man to come inside.

A 6-feet tall, Punjabi handsome boy with toned physique greeted Jagdish and Saroj by touching their feet. Jia offered her the seat opposite to her on the breakfast table. She looked very tensed and worried, but Manjeet winked at her with confidence. After an hour conversation with Gujrati delicious breakfast recipes on the table both Jagdish and Manjeet were laughing loud on hilarious topics. In a few hours, he turned the unravel situation to a sweet conversation.

Finally, he agreed to their relationship and blessed the pair for a happy life and expressed to meet Manjeet’s parents soon in Delhi.

Jai Hind….

Yes, today is the official day when we got our Independence, the end of British Raj from India. Since my childhood days, this day was marked as a patriotic day at home and even in my school and college with always something different idea.

Each Indian family love to celebrate this day in their special way. But, actual Independence lies in our thoughts. The day always starts with Flag Hosting, Sing on the tune of National Anthem and the entire family watch Prime Minister’s speech on DD National followed by the cultural programmes

It is Saturday and my weekends are really busy to take care of laundry, special breakfast followed by lunch and look into the other household chores properly.  But, my Independence Day started with a little twist. The Man of the House took the charge of everything and My Cup of Tea was already waiting for me before I woke up from the bed. Now, which women will ever say NO to such a morning especially working women?

“What will you have for breakfast?” I asked

“You don’t have to cook Today, I will make the breakfast.” The Man of the House replied

Ah! I was happy and wink him with a smile.

One thing I hate the most is doing laundry and to my surprise he helped me with laundry too.

My hubby’s love for photography is endless. So, he planned an afternoon photo session with the Woman of the House. Lucky me and clicked some awesome photos.

Sharing is also an Independence to make someone happy. What can you ask for more? If you share someone’s pain or good thoughts, you become an Independent and strong person and make a better future.

We always complaint about our life, pending dreams, and frustration, but we never see the underline happiness in them. Last day, while I was traveling by metro, some kids beside me were playing and talking loud. Among all, one of them was an infant sitting on her mother’s lap. She was happy playing with her mother and other children. The baby girl was enjoying the every moment of Kolkata metro ride. The continuous flash of light and dark while metro was passing through the underground track, her eyes was saying “I am surprised, what is happening?” And, in the next moment, she was giggling and playing. The happiness in her face, body and mind was boundless.

All grown-ups, like me, are somehow chained in duties, responsibilities, and “to-do-list” in everyday life. Somehow, we all forget our happiness and started complaining about the circumstances. As I was watching the activities of the infant, I realized that Life is all about to enjoy, no matter how much hurdle you face. After all, it is a single life. I don’t believe in next life. What do you think? This is your single life and you have to enjoy to the fullest.

We waste our energy in jealousy, competition and fight all through our life. But, does it give happiness to us? We came to this beautiful world empty-handed and we will go from this world empty-handed. Be pure from heart and always smile to enjoy the positive breeze in the life. The small baby also taught me the same thing. Nothing is true in this world. The ultimate truth is DEATH. I have had many bad experiences in my life, many ups and downs and holding grudges on people who affected my life is a stupidity. At the end, I want to be happy.

Be humble, be kind to the people who misbehave or put you in odd situation. Who knows? Life wants to teach you patience. Learn to forgive and spread happiness everywhere.

Love has different meaning to everyone. I met with a girl a few days back and she is getting married next month. Yes, she is excited and happy. But, love has a different definition for her. I am sharing her words on LOVE and the feeling.

                   Muddat huee hai yaar ko mehmaan kiye huey!!! …..

Love is the worst feeling that you can have. Trust me! I know it!! I had my fair share of flings. Who am I to kid? But Love? It happened only Once! And I am still in Love with that guy. I am going to get married the next month… I know I should get rid of these stupid feelings once and for all. But no! They refuse to go1! In fact the feelings are growing by leaps and bounds! By now, you must have understood that the guy I love and the Individual I am going to get married is not the same person! Same old story, did I hear? Well, for you it may be, but not for me….. I once read Brida and yes I strongly believe in soul mates. Does marriage change anything? For me, it never will!

You just learn to live! And yes I am living. But am I ALIVE? No, definitely not! Why am I not breaking the shackles and going for what my heart desires? Simple, because I don’t have the Guts! I don’t prefer to blame situations and circumstances. Rather it is better to accept the fact. Unlimited reasoning’s cannot change the Fact. And My Love for You will never Change. Good Luck To Me! Each day my journey begins as a woman. I find a new ME. At times, it is fun, but sometimes it’s frustrating. Every time I look into the mirror and say, “yes, I am married. I am a new traveler of this journey and I am in love with you.”

Back in 2010, it was around 9 pm winter night, Radhika and Subhani (her roomie) were returning to their hostel from Bolpur (Shantiniketan, West Bengal) railway station on their respective bicycles. While riding her cycle, Radhika got a call from her best friend and she was busy conversing on the phone. Suddenly, a shabby looking man came out of nowhere and snatched her new phone, and ran away on his cycle. For a moment, Radhika was zapped and failed to understand what had happened with her with no thoughts, no words and no action.

Soon, she realized and started shouting, “my phone”, “my phone”, “my phone” and increased her cycling speed in order to catch the thief. Before speeding away, Radhika told Subhani, “A shabby looking man took my phone and I am following him to get my new phone back.”

Hearing Radhika’s shout, the men standing nearby also started to run in order to catch the thief. To avoid the threat and danger of being caught, the thief avoided the main road and took a turn to change the direction. But, Radhika was strong, brave and determined girl who wanted her phone back. At one time, she asked herself, “where I am going, I do not know the direction, can I come back again?” But, all these thoughts did not stop her and she cycled at full speed.

Listening to her shout, a security guard of a nearby ATM took out his motorcycle and joined in the chase to help her. After an hour of chasing, the thief was finally caught red handed by the guard and was dragged in front of Radhika. She was petrified, panic-stricken, and tired.

But the thief replied, “I do not have your phone”.

She was aghast and gave him a tight slap.

After half an hour of interrogation, the thief finally agreed and said that he had thrown away the phone on the roadside when he was taking the turn from the main road. Everyone reached the spot that the thief had mentioned and found the phone lying by the roadside.

“Register a FIR against the thief”, a man shouted from the crowd

But, relieved that she has got her phone back, Radhika began cycling to reach her hostel, all the way thinking what a breathless night it was. Huh!!!
